National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week

Event Date:
Sunday, August 13, 2017 (All day) to Saturday, August 19, 2017 (All day)

August 13–19, 2017 is National Health Center Week. Community health centers provide affordable, quality health care to help keep communities and youth healthy. In fact, one in fifteen people in the United States relies on services from health center clinics. Celebrate your community health centers by checking out the ideas below.

Get Involved

  • Monday, August 14, 2017 is Health Screening Day. Contact your local health center about coordinating a health screening for your program participants or encourage youth to volunteer at a local community health fair.
  • Help youth in your program find health care in your area. View our Prezi presentation on connecting youth to clinical services and visit the Health Resources and Services Administration Website to find local, affordable clinics.
  • Download this Community Guide fact sheet to learn about the benefits of school-based health centers for adolescent health.
  • Encourage youth to meet with a health care provider so that they can stay well. Learn more about the importance of one-on-one time between a youth and a health care provider from this CDC tip sheet.

This week, celebrate the contributions that health centers make to your community!
