World Sexual Health Day
September 4, 2018 is World Sexual Health Day. The World Health Organization defines sexual health as “mental, social, and physical health and wellbeing in relation to sexuality.” Sexual health is about more than just avoiding sexually transmitted diseases; issues like consent and sexual orientation are also key components to sexual health. Understanding sexual health and avoiding sexual risk may help youth stay out of poverty and achieve success in their career and education. Encourage a holistic approach to health education as part of your programming, and help youth take a smart approach to their sexual health and avoid sexual risk.
