Project Description

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for adolescents aged 15-24, and almost 20% of high school students have reported thinking about suicide. Youth who have experienced trauma, cyberbullying, and who struggle with substance use are at greater risk for suicide. This webinar provides an overview of the risk factors that can contribute to suicide, particularly among Native American and vulnerable populations of youth, and what resources are available to help prevent suicide among vulnerable youth.

Originally presented on September 14, 2017, by LeBretia White from the Family and Youth Services Bureau, Tom Anderson from Tribal Public Health, Ingrid Donato and James Wright from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and Lisa Unti from ETR Associates. 66 slides.
