Bridging the Gap: Connecting Shared Principles of Substance Use Prevention and Sexual and Reproductive Health Education

This webinar provides information regarding youth substance use in the context of sexual and reproductive health education. Presenters offer an overview of current trends in youth substance use and facilitate discussion on what grantees are seeing in the field. The presenters then provide information on the connections and parallels between youth substance use prevention and sexual and reproductive health education, including the latest research and examples of implementation in the field. Finally, presenters walk participants through a hands-on exercise of how educators/facilitators can adapt lessons to incorporate substance use into a sexual and reproductive health lesson and vice versa with time for questions and reflections. The intended audience for this webinar is facilitators/educators or those directly involved in implementing programming.
