Gaining Community Support for Sexual Health Programming

This webinar will explore concepts, approaches, and recommendations to mitigate distrust, misinformation, and other challenges that surround sexual health programming. Presenters will explore mental models, trust and community engagement, including the impact these factors have on public engagement and community support. Next, they will examine the three pillars of community support and provide recommendations to help grantees navigate challenges that often impede or distract from Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) programming. Presenters will focus on communication best practices and targeted strategies to equip youth-serving program providers with skills and tools to promote community engagement and support.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand why concepts such as mental models and trust are important to garner community support
  • Use practical information and tools to expand community buy-in and disrupt misinformation
  •  Implement new strategies to facilitate community engagement and promote sexual health programming
