National Bullying Prevention Month
Event Date:
-
In 2023, 19% of high school students were bullied on school property and 16% of students reported being bullied through texting or social media in the past year. Bullying can affect all youth—including those who are bullied, those who bully others, and bullying witnesses. Its impacts can extend into adulthood, affecting mental health and increasing the likelihood of engaging in risky behaviors.
October is Bullying Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about bullying and take action to create safe and supportive environments for young people—everyone has a role to play.
