National HIV Testing Day

Event Date:

Raise awareness of HIV among teens and young adults on HIV Testing Day.

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, and this year’s theme is The Power of “Knowing”—knowing your risk, knowing your prevention options, and knowing your treatment options.

Research has shown that nearly 1 in 5 of all new HIV infections occurs in teens and young adults aged 13 to 24. Additionally, there are serious disparities in the demographics for those contracting HIV. Most infections in this age group occur in males and minority populations.

Although youth and young adults represent a significant portion of new HIV infections, most youth do not get tested.
