The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that children and adolescents participate in at least 1 hour of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity every day. Research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also shows that exercise can result in improved cognition and reduced symptoms of depression among youth.

- Find tips on ways to be active and incorporate physical activities into your youth programs.
- Reach out to local parks and recreation departments, Girls on the Run chapters, YMCAs and YWCAs, faith-based organizations, and community centers, which may offer programs or connections to sports-based activities that can be incorporated into your healthy life skills programming.
- Get tips from CDC on how you can integrate physical activity and nutritious foods into your adolescent pregnancy prevention programs.
