National Physical Fitness & Sports Month
Event Date:
-
Regular physical activity can have numerous health benefits, such as supporting healthy growth and development, reducing anxiety, and reducing one’s risk for developing certain health conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure. According to the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, children and adolescents ages 6–17 years should get at least 60 minutes of exercise each day. However, recent studies have shown that only 23.9% of students had fully met these guidelines in 2021, which indicates the general lack of activity among youth and need for action.
Let’s work together to empower youth to take responsibility for their physical health and lead active, healthy lives!
