Fidelity monitoring is an important part of PREP programming to deliver evidence-based programs as intended. Ongoing fidelity monitoring informs implementation in multiple ways: (1) understanding implementation quality; (2) using data to troubleshoot implementation challenges for ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI); (3) identifying challenges/successes across specific settings/populations and program fit; (4) understanding planned/unplanned adaptations (what, how, why things were changed); (5) informing facilitator training and technical assistance needs; and (6) providing data that can be shared with community partners about your PREP programming. There are many ways to document implementation adaptations, which can present youth-serving organizations with both challenges and opportunities to monitor fidelity in real-world settings.
