(PREP) Leveraging Adulthood Preparation Subjects to Support Social and Emotional Learning

Event Date:
-

This interactive webinar will focus on social emotional learning (SEL) and how to integrate the related principles into pregnancy prevention programming. Facilitators will share background information about SEL and emotional intelligence, as well as their connection to trauma-informed education. Participants will work in small groups to explore strategies for integrating SEL into various Adulthood Preparation Subjects (APS). Finally, best practices for incorporating SEL into evidence-based programs will be provided so attendees will have concrete next steps for making their programming more SEL compatible.

At the conclusion of this 90-minute webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Define SEL, emotional intelligence, and trauma-informed education;
  2. Describe at least three ways that APS support social emotional learning; and
  3. Identify at least one strategy for incorporating SEL into their evidence-based interventions.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with facilitators in an open discussion and question-and-answer session after the presentation.
