PREP Share and Learn: Recruiting and Engaging Males in PREP programming
The purpose of this Share & Learn call is to provide Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) grantees an opportunity to learn from one another about strategies to recruit and engage male students in PREP programming. Moderators Andrea Vazzano and Matthew Rivas-Koehl will begin the discussion by highlighting programmatic, sociocultural, and workforce considerations relevant to working with and engaging young males in PREP programs. Participants will then hear from a fellow PREP grantee about specific recruitment and engagement strategies they have employed when delivering PREP programming to males in community and juvenile justice settings. The session will conclude with a moderated discussion in which participants can brainstorm how to better engage males within their various PREP programmatic contexts.
During the call, grantees will:
- Learn about programmatic, sociocultural, and workforce considerations relevant to working with males in PREP programming.
- Understand key strategies used by a fellow PREP grantee to successfully recruit and sustain engagement of male students and staff.
- Brainstorm and identify strategies to better engage male students and staff in specific program contexts.
