Mental illnesses are common in the United States—more than 50% of all people in the United States will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. However, only about half of those with mental illnesses receive treatment. This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s work together to champion mental health among youth and support those who may be struggling. As youth-serving professionals there are many ways you can get involved to raise awareness and spread the word about the importance of mental health among youth.
