Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
Event Date:

According to the 2011–2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey Data Summary & Trends Report, the percentage of students who experienced persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness has greatly increased over the 10-year period. Notably, the report highlighted disparities among students across racial and ethnic minorities; Hispanic and multiracial students were more likely to report persistent depressive symptoms, and reports of suicide attempts were higher among Black students than other racial and ethnic groups.
July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to promote mental health equity. Let’s work together to create supportive environments to help all young people thrive!
