National Minority Health Month
Event Date:
-
In the United States, racial and ethnic minority communities often face barriers to accessing quality healthcare, such as access to health insurance, lack of culturally competent care, and language barriers. As a result, they tend to experience higher rates of poor health in a range of conditions than their White counterparts; minority youth are more likely to suffer from chronic conditions and poor mental health and have higher rates of teen pregnancy.
