Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Event Date:
-
In 2021, 11% of high school students reported experiencing sexual violence in the past year. Sexual violence can have lasting physical and emotional effects on youth. It is also linked to negative health behaviors, such as alcohol use, substance misuse, and sexual risk behaviors.
The National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s (NSVRC) 2024 theme for Sexual Assault Awareness Month is Building Connected Communities. Let’s work together to prevent sexual violence and help create safer environments for young people to thrive.
