Community Engagement to Tackle Misinformation about Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Programs

This recorded webinar took place on December 14, 2022. Complementing the last webinar “Misinformation and Public Health: Implications for Personal Responsibility Education Program Grantees”, this webinar focused on addressing misinformation around adolescent pregnancy prevention (APP) programming. In addition to discussing the impact of misinformation on APP programs, the webinar covered the types of messages that can tackle misinformation. It also covered how to identify and work with stakeholders to create and disseminate messaging. To provide a look at these ideas in practice, the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services shared how their partners have helped them disseminate accurate information about their programs. Attendees learned action-based steps to be prepared to develop a plan to address misinformation in their respective communities’ settings.
