Engaging Youth in Rural Communities
Youth in rural communities are more likely to face barriers to accessing health care and have higher rates of childbearing than youth in urban communities. This tip sheet explores strategies that Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) grantees and other youth-serving providers in rural communities can use to engage a variety of local leaders, partners, and community members to address these gaps and ensure that rural youth have access to information about abstinence and contraception and Adulthood Preparation Subjects.
