Several states have passed laws that may affect how PREP programs implement their sexual health education curricula. For example, the Florida House Bill (HB) 1557, Parental Rights in Education, was signed and limits educators’ implementation of curriculum modules on gender and sexuality. This interactive webinar will discuss how grantees can support youth and families in their programs who are experiencing grief and trauma through loss. Participants will learn how to identify if the youth in their programs are experiencing grief and trauma through loss, specifically in communities of youth exposed to increasing levels of violence, poverty, and death. Grantee staff will also learn strategies to cope with grief and loss themselves and support the youth in their programs through the bereavement process.
