Life Interrupted: Moving Beyond Adolescent Brain Development and Trauma
The two-day PREP Topical Training, Life Interrupted: Moving Beyond Adolescent Brain Development and Trauma, will equip grantees with knowledge, skills, and resources to better understand adolescent brain development and under what circumstances adolescents are more likely to make risky decisions and why. Grantees will also learn how to apply trauma-informed strategies to decrease unhealthy risk-taking behaviors.

Grantees will also have an opportunity to work in small groups to review the brand pillars for their program. These pillars were introduced during the webinar offered on March 2, 2023 (Building a Brand Identity to Mitigate Misinformation and Connect with Key Audiences).

(SRAE) Like, Love, Follow: Understanding Teen Dating Violence in the Digital World
Teen dating violence (TDV) is “a pattern of coercive, intimidating, or manipulative behaviors used to exert power and control over a partner,”1 and can include physical violence, sexual violence or coercion, psychological aggression, and stalking,2 among other abusive behaviors. This interactive webinar focuses on how TDV affects the physical, mental, and sexual health of youth and how it impedes on their overall well-being. The webinar will introduce foundational knowledge and concepts around language, prevalence, and complex dynamics of TDV.

This Office Hours session will focus on Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) program implementation. Specifically, technical assistance (TA) providers will offer an opportunity for grantees to share lessons learned—including both successes and challenges—that this school year has offered from the perspective of program implementation. We will also discuss staff retention and how staff retention might impact program implementation.

The topic for the upcoming CoL is Learning from Pilot Studies. In this session, we hope grantees will share the lessons learned from their respective pilot studies, and explore how the pilot study informed recruitment, implementation, and data collection strategies. We will begin with introductions and then have three grantees highlight how their pilot enhanced their overall evaluation study. This session will give you an opportunity to ask questions and brainstorm best strategies for your own project!
